Dylan Lentini repeatedly proclaimed his innocence while Supreme Court Justice William Kelly presided over the sentencing, according to lohud.com, which reported that Lentini was at one point taken from the courtroom while screaming, forcing a two-hour delay in the hearing.
According to News 12, Lentini responded last year to a Craigslist ad placed by Michael Wimbert, who had been searching for a roommate. Days later, Lentini stabbed Wimbert to death, according to News 12, which reported that the 20-year-old was convicted of second-degree murder in connection with the slaying.
Soon after Wimbert’s death and later during his trial Lentini claimed that he stabbed the West Nyack man in self defense, preventing Wimbert from sexually assaulting him, according to News 12, which reported that Lentini is expected to file an appeal in the case.
