Glee Star Dianna Agron Uses Website to Support Gay Rights and the Trevor Project

Dianna Agron recently launched her new website, You Me & Charlie, and now the 'Glee' star has written a blog post that advocates gay rights and acceptance, while supporting the efforts of the Trevor Project.

Agron begins her lengthy entry with a personal story from her childhood about how she was called names for being Jewish. She writes: "This is the closest I have ever come to being able to relate to the experience of growing up being gay, and hardly knowing anyone that is like you. Or perhaps not knowing anyone at all. There are words and names that one might hear that would be far worse than, 'latke girl!' I cannot imagine the strength it requires to endure the constant torture one might be subject to."

Meanwhile, the actress segues into details about the Trevor Project's annual Trevor Live! benefit, which she attended on Sunday, Dec. 4. The evening was filled with stars, including Darren Criss, Amber Riley, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga, who accepted the Trevor Hero Award from the family of Jamey Rodemeyer, a 14-year-old fan who took his life in September.

Agron adds: "[Gaga] talked about Jamey, and how smart he was, because, 'He knew that this would get our attention.' She told us to stand up for Jamey, and others like him, to be aware of and help fight against the enormous problem that is bullying."

Agron ends her post with a message of hope, and encourages fans and readers to contact TheTrevorProject.org if they feel they need help. She concludes: "We can always LET LOVE IN. Every single day."
