Penn State's star defensive-back Joey Porter Jr. announced on social media Wednesday that he is opting out of the Nittany Lions' bowl game this season and will declare for the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft.

Porter Jr. played in 10 games this season for the Nittany Lions, recording 21 solo tackles, 11 passes defended and one fumble recovery.

The redshirt junior is expected to be a high-end draft pick in 2023.

Porter Jr. is the son of former Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl champion linebacker Joey Porter, who spent eight seasons with the Black & Gold.

Porter later served as a defensive assistant and an outside linebackers coach for the Steelers.
